Bruce, I searched Amazon and found the book you mentioned "In the Twinkling of an Eye" to be written by Sydney Watson, not Wallace as you stated, and as you described a Left Behind type of novel.
 
Another book by Watson is available there on Amazon is titled "The Mark of the Beast".
 
Interesting that such books were written almost 100 years ago and describe the rapture in term that we now use. It reminds me of the novel called "Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan" by Morgan Robertson (1898) that described an event similar to the sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912, 100 years ago.
 
I wonder if there was a book written similar to the tragic loss of the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001?
 
Of course the 100 year time span is often mentioned in regard to the assassinations of Lincoln and Kennedy.
 
What these tings mean is unclear.
