"Forty Years Plus Seven Days for Mourning, Preparation, Repentance,Tests, Warning
Hi Jean and the doves;
> > In The Scriptures the number forty for days or years sets apart a significant period for tests, repentance, warning, lessons, wilderness, preparation, and /or transition.The conclusion is with the forty. Ninevah was given a period of forty days of preaching by Jonah for the people to repent by day forty. They did.
Will we?
The forty days of counting the Omer (from Firstfruits to Ascension Day by Jewish Inclusive Reckoning) this year may be  the TIME OF REPENTANCE that will determine who is a wise virgin and who is a foolish virgin on what could be our Ascension Day, Thursday May 17, 2012. Jesus will come in like manner as he left, and he was lifted up on Ascension Day. The number 17 means VICTORY. Ascension Day this year may be the Day of the First-Trump Rapture.
Acts 1:9-11 says, “ And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was TAKEN UP; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee (meaning circle, symbol of Heaven), why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, SHALL SO COME IN LIKE MANNER as ye have seen him go into heaven. “
2Pe 1:4-11 says, “ Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (I.e., the Holy Spirit), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (agape, God’s kind of love). 8  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. :9  But he that lacketh these things is blind (i.e., like the Laodiceans), and cannot see afar off (i.e., heaven), and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins (i.e., sins committed before accepting Christ as his Saviour) 10  Wherefore the rather, brethren (i.e., believers), give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11  For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. “
1John 1:9  says, “If we confess our sins (i.e, known sins committed after accepting Christ), he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (including unknown sins).
In Rev 3:15-19, Jesus said to the lukewarm Laodiceans, “ I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. “
Rev 22:20,21 says, “ He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. “
