James,  the old Adkins diet....meat and vegs only.  Stay away from root vegs and anything white, i.e. potatoes, rice, pastas, white bread although whole grains will still affect the sugar levels.  Barley is a good sub for other grains, doesn't convert to sugar so rapidly.

Drink shots of lemon juice such as Realemon, get some Gymnema Sylvestra supplements, also some chromium, picolinate or other blend.  Exercise a LOT, brisk walks 30-60 minutes a day, get weight down if you are heavy.  Get lots of rest.  I have something on the spiritual roots of diseases, I'll send it to John and see if he can post it.
