"To
Barry Amundsen regarding: 2. Peter 1"
Dear Barry
your post:
http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/jan2012/barrya120.htm
kept me quite busy. I studied 2. Peter 1 over and over again. I
am thankful that you pointed the important bit out so clearly,
it certainly became a blessing to me.
Regarding faith vs. works: here is my opinion about it, recorded
the 11. Jan 2012:

We can't do anything to get Gods love, it comes only by grace
and we already have it 100%. By faith in Jesus we are saved
(that means, your sins are forgiven and we get eternal life
after physical death [or at the rapture]), there are no works
that could ever save us.
So what about works? Works are the result (or proof) of our real
love towards God (rather than love for the world). They ARE
important, although they don't save us.
Faith starts our race - works finish it!
Don't be a minimalist for Jesus. Run your race and finish it
[with works!] as best as you can!
Watch & Pray!
Maranatha!
YBIC, Josua
