My thought on confimations is that it's necessary to bind the enemy's ears when asking God for a confirmation, thus preventing the devil from tricking us.
Having said that, here's what happened to me:
 
Last night when praying I thought about asking for a confirmation, but I didn't.  Then,overnight I woke up and came downstairs.  There was a show on about two men who were wrongly convicted and sent to prison.  One of the men was freed, and at the end of the show words scrolled on the tv saying the second man was eventully freed too.  The date he was set free:  You guessed it, Jan 28th (2008).
