"Re: Jovial - KJV Debate"

Brother Joe, thank you for sharing your insight regarding Bible translations. Even though KGV is my favorite English Bible translation there are still some little things that are not quite accurate and sometimes can be misleading. IE, the word “church” actually means assembly….a little political issue at the time of translation I think.  Your website is very helpful for my research. Please continue sharing your insights.

Doves, I’ve never thought it possible of learning Hebrew until two years ago.  With the blessings of the Lord, there are myriad of websites, including Youtube of course, provide tons of resources of learning Hebrew for my little brain with little time to digest.  I hope with this discussion will inspire more doves to look into the wealth of the original text. Here are some websites you might want to start with.  Hope you all are blessed by His Words.

The below is the comment about my friend’s Chinese painting from another friend, Ron, who is a diligent Hebrew student and with great spirit and knowledge of the Bible:

The water is purest as it falls from Heaven; as it cuts a channel in the rock, it also carries along silt and sand—and dissolves minerals and dirt, and becomes less pure. So it is with the Word of God: as it descends from on high, it is purest in its original form. As it moves among societies of men, it takes on the cultures of the languages into which it is translated. As the Word moves, it accomplishes its word—but it is no longer quite as pure as when it was first given to men. But the promise of God is that He will one day undo the confusion of Babel, and restore His pure Word to us all.

Therefore wait upon Me, says YHWH, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, even all My fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy. And then I will return to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of YHWH, to serve Him with one consent.”

—Zephaniah 3:8&9

It is noteworthy that in the original Hebrew, Zephaniah 3:8 is the only verse in the Bible that contains all 22 Hebrew letters and all 5 final forms—the complete Hebrew alphabet; and the next verse, Zephaniah 3:9 contains the promise that God will return to us a pure language: paleo-Hebrew!

The picture above shows the Hebrew text of Zephaniah 3:8-9. The verse with all the Hebrew letters and all the final forms is surrounded by red. The blue dots show each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and the orange dots show the five final forms.

No wonder Psalm 119:18 says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law!”
