"The 2300 Days And The 9th Of Av Afterword"

Hi Doves,

I just wanted to say that I think it makes perfect sense for Dan. 8:14 to commence on the 9th of Av. Afterall, isn't the ruining and destruction of the temple one of the main attributes of the 9th of Av? The 1st and 2nd temple were destroyed on this day. So wouldn't it make sense that a future 3rd temple be desecrated by antichrist on this day also?

Daniel 8:13: "How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?"
If the count of 2300 day/evenings which breaks down into 1150-24hr days fits perfectly, and I mean down to the hour perfect, with the July 28, 2012 (Av 9th) to Sept. 23, 2015...I mean what can you say?

Now, briefly I realize that in its orginal context this whole passage is probably in reference to Antioch Epiphanes desecrating the temple back around 171 to 164 BC; or at least this is what my bible says.

But I think it's entirely plausible that this passage may have multiple applications, think of it as a double prophecy. It was in reference to Antioch Epiphanes back in the day, but can also apply to our day as well. This isnt out of the question since a number of bible prophecies have double meanings that are both valid at different times. For instance, the 69 weeks of Daniel where scholars derive 483 years by combining the two weeks and can get a historically accurate reading, but others separate the two weeks (such as Newton) into distinct periods of time...and also get a valid result; I think more valid than the first.

If it was not for the fact that the 2300 day/evenings which breaks down to 1150 days equaling 27,600 hours, fit perfect between the 9th of Av 2012 and Atonement 2015, I would not think anything extra. But it does...I cant put my hands over my eyes and say, "It's not true, It's not true, It's not true"...because as it turns out, its a perfect fit...and does not contradict scripture. Additionally, considering that the nature of the prophecy relates to the temple...which has historical ties to the 9th of Av...and then points to Christ's return...I think is significant...only time will tell.

Blessings,
