"Reply to Paul Wilson (4 Jan 2011)  "satan question""

Dear Paul;
You asked:  "We know satan has access to the throne of God now and many say he will not be thrown out of heaven, thus losing access, till MID-trib so that would bring up the possibility, at least it seems to, of satan having access to heaven and the throne of God while we are there. is this right???"
No, it is not right.  Satan will not be in Heaven while we are there.
There is a 7 year period known as the 70th Week, (the last week determined for Israel) which people mistakenly think is synonymous with a 7 year tribulation.  But within this last week of 7 years, there is a time period which Jesus called the great tribulation.  It is a 3 1/2 year/42 month/1260 day period of time during which the antichrist will "reign" amid "great tribulation", persecution and wrath.  It is the (SET) TIME period which God determined for Israel which will cause her to turn once again to Him and trust God alone for their salvation (literally, and then spiritually)....which will lead them to a 'national redemption' when Jesus, their Messiah, appears to them a "second time"....when they will finally recognize the Son whom they pierced.....and all Israel will be saved (The Remnant, that is.)
The  42 month/1260 day period of great tribulation begins midway through the 70th Week.  Shortly before the great tribulation begins, Michael the Archangel and his holy angels cast Satan (and his fallen angels) out of the heavens to the Earth.  At that time, God grants Satan the "power to continue" for 42 months/1260 days.  Satan will direct his God-given power to continue by empowering the antichrist....who will "go forth and conquer" (which is the opening of the First Seal of Revelation.)  The antichrist will "go forth to conquer" first the Jews (but God hides and protects a Remnant of them); so then the antichrist will go after "the saints of the most High", who are the people who become believers after the Rapture.
Forty Five days after the Resurrection/Rapture (on the 1335th day - see Daniel 12:12) the antichrist will commit the Abomination of Desolation (on the 1290th day - see Daniel 12:11), erecting an image, declaring himself god and demanding worship.  Those who will believe and worship him will receive the Mark of the Beast and they will be able to "buy & sell" (meaning they'll be able to buy food and fuel and live without persecution.)  But those who become Believers after the Rapture and have the testimony of Christ, will refuse to worship the antichrist and refuse to take the Mark and they will be persecuted and martyred....loving not their lives unto death.  And, as Christ has overcome the god of this world, so will the martyrs become Overcomers unto Christ.
But why is it that Satan is cast out of the heavens at the mid-point of the 70th Week?  And where are Believers at this point? might ask?
First understand that Satan is currently the "prince of the power of the air." (See Ephesians 2:1-2)  Why is that his title?  Because at one time Satan lived with God in the Third Heaven, even in God's Throne Room.  But when he exalted himself and rebelled against God, he was cast out of the Third Heaven/God's Throne Room.  However, Satan still has access to God.  (In fact, you can find him in the very first chapter of the Book of Job (1:6-7)....tempting & accusing >>>
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.  And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Satan and his fallen angels are presently free to roam the Second Heaven (space) and the first Heaven (the atmosphere/air above Earth.)  He is free to roam "the air"....thus he is called the "prince of the power of the air."
In the book of Revelation, you can find him (still) accusing.  Satan still has access to God. He has not yet been cast out of the first and second heavens.  When he is finally cast out at the midpoint of the Last (70th) Week, he will be confined to EARTH, which is going to make him very mad!  He will no longer have any access to God and therefore, he can no longer stand before God and ACCUSE the brethren!
Now why do you suppose God is going to confine Satan to the Earth for the 3 1/2 year/42 month/1260 period known as the great tribulation?  Why not just wait until Jesus comes back and then cast him into the bottomless pit from the first & second heavens?  Well, there are a couple of very good reasons why:
    1) Satan must be cast out of the heavens and be confined to Earth in order to finally remove his access to God where he ACCUSED Believers day and night (of sin.)
    2) Jesus promised He would never leave us nor forsake us and that He would be our High Priest/Advocate before the Father because while living in our natural bodies we will continue to sin.   But when Satan is cast out of the heavens, no longer having access to God and there is no longer an ACCUSER, Jesus no longer needs to remain in His Role of Advocate for living believers.  It simply won't be necessary with the Accuser gone.  You don't need an Attorney/Advocate to represent you if you are not being accused.  Also, it will not be necessary for Jesus to remain in the role of Advocate because we will not be living on the Earth any more!....we will go up as Satan is cast down and so shall we ever be with the Lord!  We will have glorified bodies like Jesus and will sin no more.
    3)  When Satan the Accuser is removed from the heavens and is confined to the Earth, and the Advocacy of Christ before the Father is no longer needed, Jesus will start His descension from the Third Heaven where He now resides..................
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
This is the Resurrection / Rapture!!!  When does it take place?  Just before the midpoint of the 70th Week in conjunction with Satan being cast down as we go UP!
    4) Have you ever considered WHY Jesus orders Michael the Archangel to rid the (1st & 2nd) heavens of satan and his fallen angels?  Perhaps it is because Jesus wants the heavens cleansed of Satan and his unholy angels as He descends down through the heavens to our atmosphere to call us up to meet Him in the AIR!
I don't know of any scriptural reference for this thought, but it seems like it would be "kosher" - which means "fitting and proper."
    5) Likewise, when Jesus comes back in The Second Coming, He will pass through the second heaven and then the first heaven, and land on earth at the Mount of Olives.  And since all of God’s saints are coming with Him for this event, it seems that the heavens will be prepared to receive the Lord and His Saints!

Those reasons are just interesting thinking on my part, but it is exciting to anticipate what our going up and coming back will be like!  But in any case, a pastor once told me that if we could actually see into the spiritual world, we'd probably be frightened to death.  Demons and demonic activity surround us.   But our spirits are sealed as God’s own temples. They cannot be defiled by any evil spirits. The only access evil spirits have to Christians is from an external position, i.e., external access known as demonic influence or demonic interference if we invite it or allow it.  In thinking about Michael the Archangel clearing the heavens of these evil spirits before Jesus descends and we go up, I couldn't help but think if Satan and his evil angels still had access to the heavens, it would be like us diving into a pool of sharks.  I wouldn't want to have to "swim" through these evil beings as I ascend, nor would I want to arrive in Heaven and find Satan there grinning at me with evil malice!

I know in reality there is nothing -absolutely nothing- to fear!  Psalm 139:8 says: "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:  if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."  No matter where I am, "...He will lead me in the way everlasting." (v. 24).
But, no, Paul, Satan will definitely NOT be in any of the heavens while we are there!
