"Paul Wilson: From Your Lips to God's Ears"
Re: http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/jan2011/paulw11-2.htm
Dear Paul & Doves:
I
think the idea of a 70 year old generation has become a mantra for our
community. If the Lord meant that a generation is for 70 years
why didn't He just say 70 years instead of the generation
phraseology? By reason of strength a person can live on to 80
years (and beyond). Israel is certainly a power to be reckoned
with. Are they strong? Unequivocally Yes! Also, even though I
have published an anticipated day of the rapture based on both external
context and internal logic the dynamic for this prediction is more
fluid and open to further interpretation. In other words, I am
not locked onto a must be Rosh rapture or an Ascension day rapture, etc.
I
really do wish my analysis is wrong and that it can be debunked.
But so far I have been able to defend the thesis. If 2011 is
truly the beginning of Daniel's 70th week then I need more than just a
general context. Where do you place the Biblical days of 1260,
1290, 1345 & 2300? Also, a jubilee is 49 years. The
actual jubilee year is celebrated on year 1 of the new jubilee
count. Think of it as Sunday being both the first day as well as
the eighth day.
I try to be as rigorous as possible in my
studies and even if the results go against the grain I will still
publish. Often times as I develop a thesis I anticipate the
challenges which impact the direction of the write up.
So, yes please continue to challenge with arguments that will test the mettle of any given theory.
