"Re Paul Wilson - Hal Lindsey"

Paul, my sincerest apologies.  Please forgive.  I misunderstood and misread as I see it was Hal Lindsay you were repeating.  Thanks for correcting me.

Thanks to Nando, I did read what Kevin Drake wrote about Rick Warren which was very good, regarding the false prophet.  Warren was there for the Presidential inaugural – virtually giving his blessing, as if from “God”, to Obama, had various meetings with Obama over time, and hosted the McCain/Obama debate.

Rick Warren certainly did not choose to speak out against Obama even though Obama is a fan of abortion, mentored by Jeremiah Wright, and his belief’s are those of a long list of contradictions to scripture.  I see merit in the premise that Warren could be the candidate, especially with regard to Warren’s statement about the 5 Fundamentals of the Faith as being “legalistic” and “narrow”.

In the past, I could easily see a Pope being the anti-Christ.  The Pope is a very high visibility leader and doubtfully a true Christian.  But overall, I think the false prophet does have to be someone that knows the anti-Christ very well and I do not see a Pope that is going to buddy up to Barry and do that and I think we have the Pope who right now is probably going to be with us when Jesus returns.  I greatly respect Nando’s defense of the Catholic church, however, I personally believe that the great apostate church is already all around us and it includes the vast majority of the Catholic church the vast majority of just about every Christian denomination that exists.  Apostasy is everywhere these last days, especially in America.

There is a scripture that reminds me of man’s tendencies:

Psalm 14:3 (New King James Version)

3 They have all turned aside,
         They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
         No, not one.

That seems to be an fairly apt description of the American church as we see if today.  Most barely fit God into their lives one day a week for little more than an hour or two, plus driving time.  We live in a “Christian” America that cannot wait until the sermon is over to spend the rest of the day watching sports on television.  It was not all that long ago in this country where the Sabbath was considered holy:

“The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled in September 1927 by a vote of 7 to 2 that Sunday commercialized baseball was “unholy” and a blatant form of “worldly employment.” The court also held that continued playing of Sunday baseball by the A’s would cause the club’s corporation franchise to be revoked.”

My how times have changed.

I personally have known so many Christians, over the years, that hold season tickets for baseball, football, hockey, etc.  I never knew one of them that devoted as much time to God as they devoted to sports.  I don’t know of one of them that witnessed for Christ or could competently share Jesus and  disciple anyone.

These days, almost all churches have accepted that they do not have to keep a Sabbath anymore as it has something to do with living under the LAW.  It has nothing to do with living under the law.  That is just a misinterpretation out of Colossians.  The Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath.  The Sabbath is a gift from God that is necessary for us to keep our heads on straight.  That is the way God created us that we need that 24 hours set apart to Him so we would be far more able to seek Him.

But what happens in America?  A vast multitude of sports on the weekend. (Amongst all the other distractions of the adversary)

Just think of the tens of millions who never go to church because they are employees of businesses who have to work on what should be the Sabbath.  These souls serve Christians at restaurants, ballparks, theaters, businesses, etc. during the very time that Christians should be making sure is devoted to rest with God.

The visual to the unsaved, on American Christianity, is that it does not look hardly different from the world, except for disappearing into the building with a cross on it for an hour every week.  After that it is business as usual with the rest of the world.  Shop till you drop and cheer your favorite multi-millionaire athlete till your voice is hoarse.

Don’t misunderstand me, folks, this writing is not just about a Sabbath being the scriptural thing to do.  People are quite capable of observing the Sabbath and being apostate.  And, no, I do not go to a church that teaches keeping the Sabbath.  But this is my observation on just one facet of what the apostate church looks like.  Not keeping God’s Sabbath has led untold tens of millions to simply walk away from God and never give Him a chance.  Imagine the millions who would be more able witness if that whole 24 hours was dedicated to the Lord, praying, studying His Word, etc…

I was listening to an audio, recently, of either A.W. Tozer or Leonard Ravenhill (these “old guys” are on YouTube) which estimated the percent of true Christians in America at 5% or less.  And that was many years ago!  Imagine what a vastly different country America would be if 80%+ were actually true, bible believing, spirit filled Christians!  Then children could pray in schools where they are taught God’s Word’s principals and His creation of the heavens and the earth, the flood of Noah, and on and on, like they were taught a century ago.  To sum up, when it gets right down to it, I do not see tens of millions of Christians on their knees in their prayer closets seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their life every day all the day long.  For if they were, this country would be a vastly different place.

It might seem I am off on a tangent but I am sure this condition of the American church is all part of the great apostasy and the false prophet epitomizes that great apostasy.  He is a defender of the great apostasy.  Appearing as another angel of light that seeks to witness to the anti-Christ who outwardly promotes everything not biblical as it is were indeed the truth and “A OK”.

I can hear them (anit-Christ and false prophet) saying “Keep those sheep eating and drinking from my table.  Don’t want them keeping God’s commandments and trying to walk on the straight and narrow path…”

It is a historical fact that early Christians had virtually nothing to do with sports, theaters, stadiums, or anything that did not glorify God.  They witnessed in the streets and everywhere but did not participate in expressly secular pleasures.  And that went on for almost 3 centuries and the Romans could not beat them so the Romans made peace, joined them, took them in.  Then things started going downhill quickly.

So to all you watchmen out there, stand fast.  Separate yourselves from the ways of the world.  Warn people in churches that the Lord comes like a thief in the night and only those prepared with oil in their lamps go with Him.  And only those who are washed in the blood of the Lamb will be saved.  Give warning regarding the warning to the one church, in the Revelation, that their garments are stained.

Ezekiel 33:5-7 (New King James Version)

5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’
7 “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.

Kevin Drake’s analysis is here:

God bless our witness and all those that love and wait on His appearing,

Well I was just reporting what Hal said. My question regarding the cardinal and rabbi were aimed toward the ID of the FP. I haven’t heard any one ID him yet.

Not at all intending to pour cold water on your search, however, I find it difficult, if not almost impossible, after reading the works of Ron Reece, John Tng, and others on the front page – to even consider another candidate as the anti-Christ, other Barack Obama.  Their numerical Gematria findings are absolutely astounding when I first read them many months ago, and still are.

Hal Lindsey

On todays program he mentioned the Roman AC being a gentile political leader with religious connections and the False Prophet as a Israeli religious leader with political connections. He mention the beast of the sea coming from the gentile nations or “sea” and the beast of the land coming from Israel or “the land”. What are your thoughts on this?? Are there any cardinals from Israel?? Any important rabbis we should look at???
