"Jeanne: My Response to the Flat Earth View"

RE: Your response (below) to mine
Dear Jeanne,
Wow!  You certainly have an interesting view of the cosmos (your post below).  You are probably pretty set in your beliefs.  However, I am compelled to reason with you in the spirit of the Bereans.  Job 26:7 does not address the issue of the earth being 'fixed', (although it is hanging in the vacuum of space 'on nothing', thankfully in a particularly empty place of our galaxy's spiral arms) so I would ask what specific Scripture compells you to adhere to such a belief that the sun and the stars all revolve around the 'circle of the earth' (Isaiah 40:22) in one 24 hour period?  Do you dispute the passage in Job 38:12-15  that CLEARLY states the earth spins like a potter's wheel ("turned as clay") and that it is the morning (sunrise) and dayspring (morning star) 'stand as a garment' with fixed stations (yet also have apparent circuits as per Psalm 19).
Job 38:12-15 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; [and] caused the dayspring to know his place;  That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? It is turned as clay [to] the seal; and they stand as a garment. And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
Hermanuetically there is no other way to interpret this passage:  Two objects, the morning sun and the dayspring (morning star) are locally fixed and are the 'they' standing as a garment.  The 'they' which stands as a garment are the morning and dayspring, and from the wicked THEIR light is witholden.  The IT is the EARTH and IT (the earth) is TURNED AS CLAY (like a signet seal on a potter's wheel).
How would you interpret this passage in Job differently?
The heavens and the earth were 'created' out of nothing.  On the third day, the sun, moon and stars were made or appointed (H6213) for the purposes of determining signs, seasons, years, days, etc.  In other words, our solar system core sun, planetary motions, Mazzaroth, moon, stars, were APPOINTED or fixed for the purpose of determining TIME.  The greater light (sun) and lesser light (moon) already existed previous, but was appointed or MADE on the third day for the benchmark purposes of time.
If the planets are not included in the purview of 'stars' as being made for the purposes of time in Genesis 1, when did God make them?
Looking forward to your response.
In Christ,

360 Day False Prophetic Year or Something Else?
by: Kevin Heckle Sr.
I was overwhelmed by all that information.  I'm no math scholar but I do believe that the star Sirius is the bright and morning star for it is a star and Venus is a planet.  I recently discovered it has an heliacal rising on July 4th every year according to "heavens above".
Another weird part of me is that I believe that the Earth is the center of the Universe instead of the Sun.  I don't think we spin like a top, or wobble.  We are fixed in space and hang from nothing from the north part like Job says.
Job 26:7 "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing."
The magnetic poles remain in the same place: it is the stars that drift south vertically by 10 degrees every 2,000 years so that is how the equinoxes change. The first pole star was Tuban in Draco the dragon, then Kocab in the bear, then Polaris in the bear and now it is drifting away.

The Earth was created four days before the Sun, Moon and Stars were created so what could the Earth be circling for 4,000 years if, as Peter says, each day is as a thousand years? That is the reason that the heavens could be stretched out.
The Book of Enoch explains those 364 days per year before the flood.  That quarter day was added at the time of the shadow of the dial going down backwards by 10 degrees.  It can only happen if the earth is the center of the Universe and not if the earth is spinning like a top, or wobbling.  But it does quite often shake, rattle and roll as some are experiencing of late all over the world.
Someone was considering changing our calendar to a 13-month calendar of 28 days each with a day-out-of-time.  The New Years would be July 24 with a day-out-of-time.  Praise the Lord...they didn't because I have enough trouble with the one we have.
