Who Really Owns the World?

Dear friends:

Who really owns the world?  Is it the U.N., the New World Order, the Illuminati, the World Bank, George Soros, or who?
The answer may surprise you.
This letter may be like the old 1950s television program, The Millionaire, where a rich philanthropist would send his personal emissary to deliver an anonymous check for $1 million to some unsuspecting person.  The surprised recipient was suddenly rich beyond his or her dreams.
The essence of the plot was what they did with the money, and how it changed them.
Riches far greater than $1 million are transmitted to you by this letter.  If you receive the message, by faith, you will be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams, all free to you, pre-paid!
What will you do with it, and how will it change you?  That is the big question.
QUALIFICATION:  Although free, there is one major qualification for these riches.  You can find it described at the end of this message next to these seven asterisks: *******.
BACKGROUND.  God previously gave dominion over the earth to Adam.  But Adam blew it by disobedience and forfeited his authority over the earth to Satan, whom the Bible calls the “god of this world,” or evil world system (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Many years later, God made a promise to Abraham to restore the earth to Godly ownership, apart from man’s works or effort, but through the phenomenon of faith.  For that purpose, God called Abram (later Abraham) out of pagan Babylon and led him into the Promised Land, now the land of Israel.  Abraham was the first Hebrew.
The Apostle Paul wrote: “The promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith” (Romans 4:13).
The neat thing about faith is that it is an equal opportunity opportunity.  It affects every person the same.  Education, intelligence, race, wealth, or anything else neither helps nor disqualifies a person.  Also, something achieved by faith robs human pride of a basis for boasting and gives all the credit to God.
Now it gets down to you!  Paul also wrote, “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as of many, but as of one, ‘And to your Seed, who is Christ (Galatians 3:16)…. if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (v 29).
Repeat:  “If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs -- heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:16-17).
We know that God is sovereign and owns everything.  As the old hymn says, “This is my Father’s world.”  But we also know that because He is a righteous judge, in His governing God establishes legal rights and honors those rights.  He honored Adam’s ownership until Adam legally gave it up to Satan.  Then through Abraham, God made a promise (covenant) to restore it all back, not based on faulty human effort, but through faith.  He restored it back through “His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things (Williams translation: ’the lawful owner of everything’), through whom also He made the worlds” (Hebrews 1:1-2).
Sleeping Abraham!  This is fascinating: To make sure that Abraham’s faulty human nature did not mess up God’s plan, He actually put Abraham to sleep and immobilized him while He established a blood covenant with Abraham and his seed (Christ, and those in Him).  (See fascinating process at Genesis 15:12).
So much for human effort!
We know “no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for ‘the just shall live by faith.’” (Galatians 3:11).
QUESTION:  So, who owns the world?
1.  Christ, who is “heir of all things,” (Williams: “the lawful owner of everything”).
2.  Also, those who are “joint heirs” with Christ; that is, those who are “in Him,” by faith.  “If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”

CONFIRMATION:  Would you like confirmation of your ownership of the world, even a title deed?  Here it is, in the Amplified Bible: “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” (Hebrews 11:1).  Faith is your “title deed.”
Jesus also confirmed this, saying, “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
Abraham’s blessing is ours!  “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus…” (Galatians 3:13-14).  The blessing of Abraham is not just for the afterlife, in the sweet by and bye, but also in this life.  God blessed Abraham with great wealth, and he lived a long and prosperous life.
Condolences to those who have been teaching that God wants us poor and does not want us to prosper, a false idea soundly disproved throughout the Scriptures, such as the above and in 3 John 2: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”  Psalm 112:3 says of God: “Wealth and riches are in his house,” and the Lord’s prayer says, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

1. If Jesus and His followers own the whole world, why is the world still so messed up and full of evil?  ANSWER:  While his legal right to the world was stripped from him at the cross, Satan is allowed to run loose for a while until God’s plan for the world is complete, allowing man’s free will to remain in effect, able to choose between God and eternal life with Him, or Satan and a godless eternity.
2.  When will our ownership be fully manifested and consummated?  Short range: By speaking and releasing God’s Word into situations and allowing God’s love to flow through us, we as joint heirs can manifest Satan’s defeat and spread God’s Kingdom, now, on a daily basis, as we confront specific problems and challenges in life that may arise.  Long range: When Jesus returns, which may be very soon.

”For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God…. the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now” (Romans 8:19-22).
Now back to our original question posed at the beginning of this message: Who really owns the world?
Is it you?  What does God say?
Do you believe?
All you have to do to qualify to be a joint-owner of the world is to be a born-again child of God, having received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  For the Scripture says to “as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12, NKJV).  You can receive Him right now with this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God, that you died for my sins, and that you rose from the dead.  I receive you into my heart now as my Lord and Savior.  Amen.”
The Bible is clear that the qualification for these riches is attained only by faith and not by anything we do (Ephesians 2:8-9).  That is why it is free.  We could never earn it.  “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow (or toil) with it” (Proverbs 10:22, NKJV).
