RE: Fay's 01/21/2011 post about "eyes...opened in order to "see" the multitude of angelic warriors..."
You can always go to www.blueletterbible.com and run a search there on any word. Took me a couple of tries, but the scripture you're looking for is II Kings 6:17.
I just love this story.
Elisha had time and again warned the king of Israel where the king of Aram was camped. He sent his horses and chariots to capture Elisha. When the Man of God's servant arose the next morning, they were surrounded by the Arameans. Elisha told his servant not to worry because, "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them," and he prayed his servant's eyes would be opened. The LORD answered and the servant saw all around them the hills full of horses and chariots of fire.
It's a wonderful thing to know that in these latter days, here near the end of time when we (and Israel, too) are surrounded by wickedness, that God has surrounded His people with an invisible army of righteousness.
"Be still and know that I am God." If your faith is in Jesus Christ, you are surrounded by His love, you are engraved in the palm of His hand, and no man can pluck you out of it. Sometimes our earthly circumstances are so difficult we look down and despair or we look around and are discouraged.
I wonder if Paul the Apostle was thinking of this event when he prayed for the Ephesians, "I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe."
THAT is what surrounds us.
So I turn my eyes upon Jesus. I look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
P.S. For you, Fay, and all Doves. Recently Steve Hadley at http://www.harvestreno.org/messages.asp promised a Prophecy Update before the end of January. So, while we're speaking of looking around, or down, watch his site for the always-popular prophecy update.
