"TO Silva Sirry - "To Peggy M: The Sabbath God Gave Adam""

Hi, precious sister!

I will make sure Pastor reads your well thought out article.  And I wish to heck I GOT a day off… it seldom happens for me… or for Richard, as a rule.  The way it goes is that during the week, we are, of course, WAY too tired and have 1 hour TOPS to be awake at home.  So by the time the weekend comes, if anything special needs doing, it has to get done on Saturday.  Take last weekend, for instance.  We had to go into town to (a) get my tires put on, since I drive on the same tires 550 miles/week (LITERALLY), (b) pick up the dogs’ items at the feedstore, and (c) stop by the grocery.  By the time we got home, it was 2 PM!  And since Richard’s BD was 1/13 (a Tuesday), I made his BD dinner and dessert on Saturday.  Because by this point in time, the things that I have to do on the weekends obviously were put off until Sunday.  Well, what I have to do each weekend is a week’s worth of washing, a week’s worth of Daily Updates (no time to do them all from scratch in the weekday mornings, except for putting up daily news articles and prayer requests, which alone take about 2 hours in the morning, stopping to get Richard’s lunch made, seeing him off, uploading, checking the links, putting up the previous night’s dishes, and getting ready to leave for work), and wash my hair/shave.  What I wouldn’t give to be able to rest a whole day!

Trust me, sis, I’m not saying these things to argue with you, I’m just letting you know that while I understand what you’re saying (and agree with you about the need to rest), the way things go these days, it seldom happens for us or anyone else.  In most families these days, BOTH partners HAVE to work.  If I didn’t work (and I’ve been working for 32 years straight!), we would have no insurance, because Richard’s is WAY expensive, and mine is not.  And with all the health problems he’s had, that’s a necessity, not a luxury.  Not to mention that as expensive as everything is these days, we wouldn’t even be able to pay our monthly bills, and our County has the cheapest bills I know of!

Now, GF, ask me how forward am I looking to the Rapture???  :)

LY!

Peggy
