"He waits for a reason"

Hello Doves,

You do not know me, but I am on this site nearly everyday reading many of your posts.  I have been doing this for many months now.  I too am eager to see His coming!

There was a time that I would beg the Lord in prayer to please come quickly and rescue me from the pain of this world.  Since then, the Lord has taught me many things.  Don't get me wrong, I still look towards the eastern sky and imagine with great hope what that glorious day will be like.

However, I began to think.  I did not even become a Christian until 1993.  I am so thankful He did not return before I was born again.
Everyday is a gift to those who today do not know him, but will tomorrow.  As Christians, we are not complete without our brothers and sisters.  And, there are still more to come into our family.

Everyday is another opportunity to leave yet another mark of Christ on the hearts of the lost.  Even with our own personal walks, everyday is a gift to become more and more sanctified.  We can grow in humility and faith.  We can walk with the Lord here in this world.  Many of us that long for His coming have not yet fulfilled the purpose He has for us.
I do not want the tears Christ wipes away from my eyes to be tears of regret that I did not live for Him or die for Him.  I have wasted enough of my life living for myself.  I want to make these last days count.  I want to finish my race.  I see everyday as precious time to make up for much wasted time.

I just want to encourage you Doves to see these flat few days as an opportunity to make it count for God's glory.  His heart's desire is for man to be saved.  Love those around you with a 1Co. kind of love that causes you to die to yourself. Find in Him the power to spread the Good News of the Gospel. The Lord is not just coming to rescue us from the tribulation that will come upon this world.  When He comes He expects to find us victorious and overcomers, not defeated and beaten (this is why I am thankful for more time).

We will be rewarded with eternal rewards on how we live this life and everyday is a gift!   Even though we will simply cast these rewards at the Lord's feet, there will be a peace and joy that we will have knowing we sprinted as we crossed the finish line.

Thank you for your time!
