There is no need, in my opinion for the Temple to be rebuilt because it is possible to determine where it was and that is The Holy Place, which is what the translation of the Scripture refers to.  The spot the Almighty chose and still holds is sure and the Devil is fighting for the ownership of it.  All that is necessary is for recognition of it and for the Anti-Christ to ascend and try to take control. 

I believe sacrifice on the Temple Mount will unite the "world" in outrage against Israel and set up for the war against Jerusalem that will end when the Messiah, Jesus (Yeshua) comes down and fights  and rescues his people who will recognize  Him and mourn for their previous unbelief!
