Yes, Israel was oppressed by more than just one of the Pharoahs, but would God be writing about anyone here other than that same Pharoah whose oppression was so severe, that it bordered on the ridiculous? Even Stephen, as he gives a detailed account of the history of that time to the Sanhedrin, alludes to a specifically different type of Pharoah - not just a difference of opinion, but of ancestry.

There are two Greek words for another. This is the Greek word heteros meaning "another of a different kind". Alos, (I think this is the correct spelling), is the other, more common Greek word not used here meaning "another of the same kind".
