"To: Mark Copfer // to explain...results of study for the word ""

Dear Mark,

I apologize for the vagueness of my prior article:
http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/jan2009/ar112.htm

Below is a list of the 33 different Strong's numbers showing different meanings or definitions that exist in the Old Testament, just for the word "rest". In other words, Hebrew, being a beautifully specific language, has 33 different, distinct meanings for this word that was translated to the (KJV) English word "rest".
14  1824  1826  2308  3242  2381  2790  3498  3499  4494  4496  4771  5117  5118  5183  6314  7257  7280  7599  7604  7605  7606  7611  7673  7677  7901  7931  7954  7965  8058  8172  8252  8300

4496 = MNUWCHAH  (the Hebrew word for "rest" that is used only in the below scriptures):  This is the specific word "rest" that I pointed out shows in Zech 9:1 (below). It's one of the most rare out of all 33 different possible definitions of the English word "rest". Though "rest" is in the (KJV) Old Testament exactly 231 times, here are the only scriptures (15 of them) that show this special, feminine version of the word alluding to matrimony, etc - see definition for 4496 again, below the scriptures;

Gen 49;15 And he saw that rest was good and the land that it was pleasant and bowed his shoulder to bear and became a servant unto tribute

Deut 12;9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance which the LORD your God giveth you

Ruth 1;9 The LORD grant you that ye may find rest each of you in the house of her husband Then she kissed them and they lifted up their voice and wept

1 Kings 8;56 Blessed be the LORD that hath given rest unto his people Israel according to all that he promised there hath not failed one word of all his good promise which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant

1 Chron 22;9 Behold a son shall be born to thee who shall be a man of rest and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about for his name shall be Solomon and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days  (Only the first rest here = 4496)

1 Chron 28;2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet and said Hear me my brethren and my people As for me I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and for the footstool __ of our God and had made ready for the building

Ps 95;11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest

Ps 132;8 Arise O LORD into thy rest thou and the ark of thy strength

Ps 132;14 This is my rest for ever here will I dwell for I have desired it

Is 11;10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse which shall stand for an ensign of the people to it shall the Gentiles seek and his rest shall be glorious

Is 28;12 To whom he said This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest and this is the refreshing yet they would not hear (Again, only the first rest here = 4496)

Is 66;1 Thus saith the LORD The heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool __ where is the house that ye build unto me and where is the place of my rest

Jer 45;3 Thou didst say Woe is me now for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow I fainted in my sighing and I find no rest

Micah 2;10 Arise ye and depart for this is not your rest because it is polluted it shall destroy you even with a sore destruction

Zech 9;1 The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach and Damascus shall be the rest thereof when the eyes of man as of all the tribes of Israel shall be toward the LORD

4496. mnuwchah (men-oo-khaw')
Or mnuchah {men-oo-khaw'}; feminine of Manowach; repose or (adverbially) peacefully; figuratively, consolation (specifically, matrimony); hence (concretely) an abode -- comfortable, ease, quiet, rest(-ing place), still.
see HEBREW Manowach

I saw the words above, feminine of, matrimony....this looked like "the rest" that we as the bride will enter into, SEE VS 11 BELOW, and vs. 18. This rest is surely related to the rapture of the bride of Christ. Here's more about this "rest" - this time New Testament, so Strong's from GREEK;

<< Hebrews 3 >>
King James Bible with Strong's Numbers

1 Wherefore holy brethren partakers of the heavenly calling consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession Christ Jesus 2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him as also Moses was faithful in all his house 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses inasmuch as __ he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house 4 For every house is builded by some man but he that built all things is God 5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house as a servant for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after 6 But Christ as a son over his own house whose house are we if __ we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end
7 Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith To day if ye will hear his voice
8 Harden not your hearts as in the provocation in the day of temptation in the wilderness
9 When your fathers tempted me proved me and saw my works forty years
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation and said They do alway err in their heart and they have not known my ways
11 So I sware in my wrath They shall not enter into my rest
12 Take heed brethren lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God 13 But exhort one another daily __ __ while __ it is called To day lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin 14 For we are made partakers of Christ if __ we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end
15 While it is said To day if ye will hear his voice harden not your hearts as in the provocation
16 For some when they had heard did provoke howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years was it not with them that had sinned whose carcases fell in the wilderness 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest but to them that believed not 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief

(I've included the whole chapter here so you can scroll over all the words to study this further. This is an important chapter, regarding the "rest" that we as believers, as the bride of Christ will enter into).
BELOW IS THE STRONG'S DEFINITION OF THE WORD "REST" (in Hebrews Chapter 3) THAT IS CLOSEST IN MEANING TO 4496 ABOVE, (IN GREEK FOR THE NEW TESTAMENT);

2663   //  katapausiv  //  katapausis   //  kat-ap'-ow-sis  //

from   2664  ; TDNT - 3:628,419; n f

AV - rest 9; 9

1) a putting to rest
1a) calming of the winds
2) a resting place
2a) metaph. the heavenly blessedness in which God dwells, and of
which he has promised to make persevering believers in Christ
partakers after the toils and trials of life on earth are ended

Lastly, I'm sure I wasn't clear enough here;

Hebrew English
Adam Man
Seth Appointed
Enosh Mortal
Kenan Sorrow;
Mahalalel The Blessed God
Jared Shall come down
Enoch Teaching
Methuselah His death shall bring
Lamech The Despairing
Noah Rest, or comfort
For more of Chuck Missler's article explaining this hidden message in Genesis, click here: http://khouse.org/articles/1996/44/

I'll be brief about the above in case you didn't see Chuck M's article. If you read down this list of English equivalent meanings of these Hebrew names you'll see something that God divinely, purposely caused to happen & then put in His Word to us; the Gospel, hidden in a geneology, the very beginning book of the Torah, in the 5th chapter. (Five for grace!).
Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow. The blessed God shall come down teaching: His death shall bring the despairing rest (or comfort). See rest & comfort......look above again under the definition for rest 4496. Along with matrimony? (This one is fun to share with His chosen people by the way!)
Do you see "the days of NOAH" here? HA!

When I saw this "funny" definition for "rest" in Zech 9;1 in the same sentence as Damascus, well this intrigued me because I've come to believe, after many years of study, that our rapture will happen around the same time frame as the destruction of Damascus. I'm actually convinced. Ron Reese's article on this subject is worth reading if you haven't, but I've believed there would be rapture & sudden destruction (simultaneously) for years.

Now, as if that weren't enough, here's more about that rest, seven times in Heb 4 alone relating to the rapture of the bride, two other (different) types of the word "rest" also, not the same meaning, but very similar;

<< Hebrews 4 >>
King James Bible with Strong's Numbers

1 Let us therefore fear lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest any of you should seem to come short of it 2 For __ unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them but the word preached did not profit them not being mixed with faith in them that heard it
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest as he said As I have sworn in my wrath if they shall enter into my rest although the works were finished from the foundation of the world
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh ">day on this wise And God did rest the seventh __ day from all his works 5 And in this place again If they shall enter into my rest 6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein __ and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief
7 Again he limiteth a certain day saying in David To day after so long a time as it is said To day if ye will hear his voice harden not your hearts
8 For if Jesus had given them rest then would he not afterward __ have spoken of another day 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God 10 For he that is entered into his rest he also hath ceased from his own works as God did from his 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief 12 For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and __ spirit and __ of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart 13 Neither __ is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do

Oh, how funny.........I just did a spell check & Hadrach came up as a mispelling - the first suggestion was to change it to "headache"!

Please let me know if you have any questions at all about this. I've thoroughly enjoyed doing this study and I hope I've been more clear about what I've found this time. God bless you Mark and all Doves!
