If you see my other post of today; "Zechariah 9 - happening now (rapture hidden in here?????) MUST READ!!!!!!" you'll notice that if you scroll over the words, you get the Strongs' definition for the word (or phrase). Here's a link to that Bible site, the same page I used, so it's already "set up" for Strongs. It's Biblos.com parallel Bible by the way. This site is really helping me with my research.I wanted to include the two previous Chapters of Zechariah for futher study (I've just sent Chapter 9). Chapter 7 mentions a mysterious 70 years. (Since they became a nation, May '48, it's been 70 years). I see this (part) as a rebuke to Israel...straight from the Old Testament to them today (by today, I mean right after the rapture, when a majority of Israel will begin to realize Jesus as Savior). Of course, it was a rebuke to them back then as well when we acknowledge the holographic nature of the prophecies and their sometimes multiple fulfillments. They fasted, but notice in vs 5, "....did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?". No, they hadn't recognized Jesus as their Messiah when he came, and they again didn't recognize him after God miraculously restored them as a nation in '48.Then, vs 8, NEW word from God, showing that layer of time when Jesus walked the earth & spoke the words they should have listened to when he came the FIRST time!I apologize - the punctuation is not showing up on the Strongs pages of this website. But from the website, link above, it's easy enough to get to the regular section showing comma & question marks, etc.
LET'S LOOK AT CHAPTER (8). EIGHT = NEW BEGINNINGS; (MILLENIUM). THE BEGINNING OF THE CHAPTER SPEAKS ABOUT THE TIME OF THE MILLENIUM, THEN...VS 9 IS WHERE GOD BEGINS TO TELL THEM TO BE STRONG, STARTS A WARNING LEADING UP TO...VS 10, (....FOR BEFORE THESE DAYS... (OF THE MILLENIUM) = HARD TIMES, TRIBULATION)Then he tells them NOT TO FEAR...many times notice (BECAUSE HE WILL KEEP THEM SAFE DURING TRIBULATION!)!!

I think the dates should be looked at carefully. Can anyone else contribute...I know I'm missing something else....it might make today's post if I can remember..__
I meant to add an interesting side note about the "mystery" behind the actual writer of the last six chapters of Zechariah, beginning with chapter 9 (which begins the commentary below). Paul talked about a mystery didn't he, and wasn't it a famous Rabbi that stated there are no such things as coincedences? (I'm kind of kidding, ...........kind of.) Anyway, this is a portion of a commentary from Adam Clarke on the subject; This is a prophecy against Syria, the Philistines, Tyre, and Sidon, which were to be subdued by Alexander the Great. After this the prophet speaks gloriously concerning the coming of Christ, and redemption by him. Most learned men are of opinion that this and the succeeding chapters are not the work of Zechariah, but rather of Jeremiah; Hosea, or some one before the captivity. It is certain that chap. xi. 12, 13, is quoted Matt. xxvii. 9, 10, as the language of Jeremiah the prophet. The first eight chapters appear by the introductory parts to be the prophecies of Zechariah: they stand in connection with each other, are pertinent to the time when they were delivered, are uniform in style and manner, and constitute a regular whole; but the six last chapters are not expressly assigned to Zechariah, and are unconnected with those that precede: - the three first of them are unsuitable in many parts to the time when Zechariah lived; all of them have a more adorned and poetical turn of composition than the eight first chapters, and they manifestly break the unity of the prophetical book.I conclude, from internal marks, that these three chapters, (9., 10., 11.,) were written much earlier than the time of Jeremiah, and before the captivity of the ten tribes. They seem to suit Hosea's age and manner; but whoever wrote them, their Divine authority is established by the two quotations from them, ver. 9; xi. 12, 13.
