"Romancing the Beloved... Israel shall blossom and bud"

Yesterday, as I was leaving work, I saw a license plate in the parking lot with the numbers 2261.  In the Hebrew Strong’s, it is the Strong’s number for ROSE.  It is only used 2 times in the Old Testament.

Sgs 2:1 I [am] the rose [2261h] of Sharon, [and] the lily of the valleys.

Isa 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom [6524h] as the rose [2261h].

It was Valentine’s Day in 1997 that I lost my job in Phoenix.  It was Valentine’s day 3 years ago, that the rose I gave to my wife was rejected.  Today, I received an email from my sister in Christ wishing me a Happy Valentine’s Day.  So I was thinking perhaps this year, God may begin demonstrating His love toward us by romancing His beloved.   Last night, in worship practice, we began working on a song, Dance With Me – sung by Paul Wilbur.  Very beautiful song.

Chorus:

Dance with me O lover of my soul

To the song of all songs

Romance me O lover of my soul

To the song of all songs

Verse 1:

Behold You have come over the hills upon the mountains

To me You have run My beloved You've captured my heart

(Chorus)

Verse2:

With You I will go you are my love you are my fair one

Winter is past and the springtime has come

(Chorus)

Just this month, it was reported that a new Palm tree was discovered that blossoms like a Christmas tree after 100 years and then dies.  Called the Tahina Spectabilis meaning “The Blessed Spectacular”.

The word BLOSSOM in Isa 35: 1, is the same word used in flourish.

Psa 92:12  The righteous shall flourish [6524h] like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Psa 92:13  Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish [6524h] in the courts of our God.

Psa 92:14  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

Psa 92:15  To shew that the LORD [is] upright: [he is] my rock, and [there is] no unrighteousness in him.

Isa 27:6  He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud [6524h], and fill the face of the world with fruit.

Blessings,
