New Heavens – To be populated by all remaining spirit beings such as angels  and Christians who have not received glorified bodies (only overcoming Christians will receive resurrected bodies.)

The New Earth – Will be populated by -
a.) New Jerusalem – Established as the Capital of the New Earth, will be inhabited by, God The Father,
    Jesus Christ and the Overcomers, who will have new resurrected bodies Rev3:12, Rev21:1-5,22-27
    Rev22:1-5
b.) All remaining human, natural beings who have refused to rebel against Israel at the end of the
     Millennium. Zech14:16-20
c.) Israel, will still be the World Government in the natural sphere. Ps.18:43 - 44
d.) Animals and plants of all kinds. (not sure about insects)

On the New Earth man will procreate to “thousands of generations.' Deut.7:9, Ps145:1-13

Before the above period after the The Second coming –

Judgment of Sheep and Goats Mat25:31 – 46

Non-Christians, people who survived the terrible times will be divided between the Sheep and the Goats.

Sheep - Those people who did something good for a Christian during the Tribulation, no matter how small, because of this, they are declared righteous, and allowed into the Kingdom of God and will populate the earth.

Goats - Those who showed no compassion whatsoever for any Christian in need will be destroyed. (sent away into everlasting punishment)

Israel will be the ruling nation on earth (gathered together out of all countries, and sin taken out of them but still being non-resurrected, human beings.)
All Israel shall be restored, not only the living remnant at His coming, but even those who have died.

True heavenly rulership of the earth will be Jesus and His Overcomers who will rule and reign with Him. Rev2:26 – 27

After 1000 years Satan will again be released for a short period, deceive nations to rebel against God's instituted World Government, Israel.  God will intervene from heaven and destroy all the rebels. Rev20:7-9, Ez38:7-12, 21-23
After this the present heaven and earth to be replaced by a New Heaven and New Earth..

On the New Earth people will not age but because they will still be natural human beings I believe there will still be the potential of getting sick. The leaves will be given for healing.

I believe that the Tree of Life is provided for subsistence for those who have resurrected bodies but other than that I think that is a mystery that we will find out one day.

We are not going to live on the earth during the thousand years. Jesus and the Overcomers will rule and reign from the Heavenlies. We will be with Jesus and will be able to move between the earth and heaven as angels because we will have glorified bodies. Our abode will only be on the New Earth in the New Jerusalem.
