"The Ten Virgins"

John and all Doves

This is how I understand the parable of the ten virgins ; Matthew 25:1-13

Virgins – Born again baptized Christians.
Ten – Whole number, 5 ready 5 not ready – some ready, some not ready.
Bridegroom - Jesus Christ
Oil - Consecration / Love for Jesus Christ
(In the Old Testament oil was used for consecration)
Lamps - External visible witness as a result of being filled with the oil of consecration /
              Love for Jesus Christ
Vessels – Body, heart, soul, understanding (mind) innermost being that which contains
the oil. - or is it full of emptiness, vanity? (It takes time to get the vanity out)

I know that most people think that the oil is the Holy Spirit but I tend to think more and more that the oil is love.                                                                       (Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a result of being filled with the love of Jesus)

“But He answered and said 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you”. Mat 25:12

But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him” 1Corinthians 8:3

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith,
so that I could remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing.” 1Corinthians 13:2

“ Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.’
“Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, “or
else I will come quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent.”
Revelations 2:4-5

The virgins I believe will not lose their salvation but they will suffer remorse and will have to go through the tribulation.
