The Jewish lunar calendar has an extra month added about every 3 years (actually 7 months every 19 years) to correct for the lunar/solar difference. Thus a given 7-year period includes either two or three embolic (extra month added) years to account for this difference, or 86 or 87 lunar months. The average lunar period is 29.53 days at present. Thus a 7-year time with 2 embolic years equals 86 x 29.53 = 2540 days and this equates with the date of the Feast of Trumpets on year 7. Realizing that the rapture is on the Feast of Trumpets and knowing that this in a New Moon festival we can count the number of moons that would appear during this time. There are 86 moons that will appear during a seven year period seen on any lunar calendar. The moon revolves around the earth every 29.530589 days. Times this by 86 moons will equal to 2,539.63 days and can be rounded up to 2,540 days. This would get us back to the Feast of Trumpets seven years later on the day 1st day of Tishri. Well 2579 days is too many days So you need 86 moons between Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement in any seven year Tishrei to Tishrei span to give you 2550 days or close to that many. Remember only 2550 days is applicable. 86 x 29.53 from Tishrei to Tishrei = (2540 Days rounded) + 10 days --- to Day of Atonement = 2550 Days.
[edit] The Day of Atonement and Eschatology
Some Christians believe that the Day of Atonement, the sixth holiday on the Hebrew calendar, will come into its ultimate New Covenant fulfilment on a climactic day in future history. Not only will it wrap up affairs between God and His covenant people for the year, the sabbatical year, and the 50 year Jubilee cycle, but this future day of awe will be a climactic Day of Atonement that will come on the last day of this age and on the eve of the Last judgement.
Bible scholars believe that the next feast to be fulfilled, the Feast of Trumpets, which is Rosh Hashanah or the Jewish New Year, will be the epic peace treaty of Daniel 9:27. In this seven year covenant the sovereign land of Israel will be divided up and ceded to a coming global peacemaker for a period of seven years. This seven year covenant, which promises peace to the Middle East, is the event which initiates the 70th Week of Daniel, the final seven years of this age.
The reason they believe this to be so is that the timespan encompassing the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement when they are seven years apart and when they comprise 86 moons on the metatonic cycle, (and not 87 moons), is 2550 days.
86 moons = 86 x 29.530589 days + 10 days = 2550 days (inclusive). This is the timespan that begins on Tishrei 1 in year X and extends out seven years to Tishrei 10 on year X + 7.
2550 days is a very significant time period. This is precisely the timespan of the 70th week of Daniel along with the 30 day extension which goes out beyond the 1260 day second half of the Prophecy of Seventy Weeks to reach the 1290 days we see prophesied by Daniel. (Dan.12:11). 1260 days + 1290 days = 2550 days exactly.
This is quite remarkable. The timespan of Daniel's 70th Week with its 30 day extension, appears to be marked out precisely by the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement seven years later. This is for those seven year Tishrei to Tishrei timespans that see 86 and not 87 moons. This a very significant discovery. It is not likely to be a coincidence.
The calculations of these feast to feast timespans across 86 moons and seven years are uncomplicated and easily verifiable. They can be confirmed quite readily using the new moon lunar data from the United States Naval Observatory or by using the Hebrew Calendar Converter available online at Hebcal.com.

I calculated seven year timeframes from the metatonic cycle with 86 moons, according to Israels Sabbatical Cycle from the Jewish years 5706 to 5839 and the only seven year span that matched up with the Israel Sabbatical and had the 86 moons, 2550 day requirements was the upcoming Israel Sabbatical in 5769. It was the only one that matched in regards to Israels Sabbatical cycle.

Israel’s present year-week started in September 2001 and will end with the Rosh Hashanah in 2008, which means that the next one will elapse between 2008 and 2015. That will be the last full year-week that can be fitted into the generation of 70 years that started in 1948 and the adult generation of 40 years from 1978. Seven year-weeks since June 10, 1967, when Jerusalem was recaptured, will have elapsed on 23 September 2015. Israel has reinstituted their biblical chronology of year-weeks, of which the seventh year in every cycle is a sabbatical year (Lev. 25:3-4). But they follow lunar years which are shorter than prophetic years as well as seasonal years. In order to keep track with seasonal years they often have leap years with a 13th month. Their next year-week will begin with the Rosh Hashanah in September 2008 and extend until the Jewish New Year of September 2015. By then, seven prophetic year-weeks since the restoration of Jerusalem in June 1967 will expire.
The year-week from September 2008 to September 2015 is also very important from the viewpoint of the last generation (Luke 21:32). A last generation of 70 years (Ps. 90:10) started with the birth of modern Israel in May 1948, and will end in May 2018. The last full year-week which can be accommodated in this generation is the one from September 2008 to September 2015. From this point of view time is quickly running out for us.
It will soon be evident whether the Antichrist’s seven-year covenant with Israel and the nations (Dan. 9:27) will indeed coincide with Israel’s present year-week cycle. What we should clearly realise now is that true believers can at any moment hear the cry: “Behold, the Bridegroom is coming; go out to meet Him!” (Matt. 25:6). It will then be too late for the foolish virgins (carnal and nominal believers) to prepare for His coming. Because of their own neglect they will face the dark night of the tribulation under the Antichrist’s reign of terror. During that time they can still be saved and sanctified but amid great persecution.
