To the editor: Happy New Year of 2008 to all. Do you know why it is 2008? It
is 2008 years from what? Two thousand and eight years ago (approximately)
Christ was born.

That event forever split time in Western civilization, demarcating all those
events that happened before this event as Ante Christum Natum, before the
birth of Christ (later changed to just BC), and Anno Domini, those events that
happened in the year of our Lord (AD).
