Come Boldly to the Throne of Grace
Today's message is from Iverna Tompkins.
If praise weren’t so powerful in the spiritual realms, Satan would not try so hard to keep us away from it! For many years, every time I went to praise, Satan brought up my past to make me feel unworthy. Just about the time I would rise in praise, he would whisper in my thoughts, “You can’t praise God. You didn’t even make it in marriage.”
In those years, divorce was a very big thing in my church. If you were a Sunday school teacher today and got a divorce, you were on the back row tomorrow. So Satan used that to defeat me.
Then when my son wasn’t serving the Lord, the enemy would add, “You didn’t even make it work at home.”
Satan is always the accuser of the brethren, and he always uses truth to tell his lies. The truth was that I had failed in marriage, and Dan was running from the Christian life.
But that’s not the whole truth. The whole truth is that I wouldn’t deserve to worship even if I’d never failed. It’s all grace.
The Bible says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16, KJV). When I grasped the whole truth, I was able to rise above the accusations of the enemy.
TODAY'S PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You that I didn’t earn my invitation into Your presence because of anything I did. I was invited into Your presence because of what Jesus did on the cross! Today I can come boldly into Your throne
