I have been watching for MANY Rapture dates ever since the "88 reasons He will come in 1988." For a long time I thought the best date as far as I can figure would be the Feast of Trumpets. But just this past year, after the Feast Day came and went, I realized that the Feasts were appointed unto the JEWS, and therefore the fullfillment of them would be in First and Second Coming events that pertained to the Jews, and through the Jews the World. Even the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) was fullfilled on the Jews. Everyone who was filled with the Spirit that day was a Jew. And that event marked the temporary transition in God's plan from the Jews to the Church. But the Jews were first, as the Scriptures say that salvation would come "to the Jews first, and also to the Greeks (Gentiles)." The Bride of Christ is made up of true Christian Gentiles and saved Jews. But the Rapture is an event specific to the Church. And a saved Jew is no longer a part of God's chosen people who are descendents of Abraham and who will inheret the Promised Land here on Earth. Rather, they are part of the Church. So it follows that the Feast of Trumpets cannot be fullfilled by the Rapture, sinc the Rapture has nothing to do with the Jews. I now believe that the Second Coming (to earth as the Jew's Messiah) will be the fullfillment of The Feast of Trumpets....The judgement of the nations (including Israel) will be the fillfillment of The Day of Atonement....and when the Millenial Reign begins will be the 1000 year fullfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles (when the Jews are finally given their Promised Land and their messiah dwells with them.)
I am not dogmatic about this....just seems to be logical. As always, my conclusions are always open for duscussion. As for the date of the Rapture, apparently no one knows yet (or at least doesn't know they know!) If anyone had an alleged vision or dream where they assumed that it would happen in 2007, then either the dream/vision wasn't from God, or they simply misinterpreted the time. Or, as some suggest, God may be going by a different calendar.I don't believe that we cannot ever know the day or the hour of the Rapture. But that's not to say that our knowing the day and hour won't be the result of 20/20 hindsight! We just have to be very flexible when it comes to trying to figure out the precise timimng. Bible codes and Biblical numerology, dreams and visions....they are all interesting and perhaps informative and even inspired. But we can't let our yearning to leave overwhelm and overpower our realization that our knowledge and understanding are HUMAN, and that NO ONE will ever know for sure unless God reveals it. He just may not see it as necessary that anyone knows the precise timing. And if someone claims that He revealed it to them through some means, then maybe He did! But it can't be PROVEN that He did until it actually happens just as that person said it would. So actually no one CAN know the day or hour....all we can do is BELIEVE that it will be this particualr time or that particular time....even if God did actually reveal it to someone. When God speaks through someone, that person and others can only believe through faith that it was God speaking. They can't KNOW it for absolute certain. And that's because they can't PROVE it....and it can't be proven unless and until GOD proves it.
I don't denounce date-seeking...I do it myself. But I do it because its interesting, not because I believe that we can force God to act according to our calculations. If we happen to calculate or figure out the precise date of the Rapture, we will not know it until after it happens, and therein lies the proof.
