"Ted Porter re Shelby Corbitt"

Praise God for another compassionate brother who will uplift a fellow believer.  I wanted to let you know that although Shelby Corbitt took down her 2007 site she immediately put up a similar site called www.rapturewatcher.org.  On it she explains her dream and her belief that she did not release her message at the appropriate time.  I for one, do not believe she released her dream at the wrong time because it appears that the coordination of the whole event was led by the Spirit.  I do believe she misinterpreted her dream to believe that the rapture would happen literally in 2007 at exactly the 3 – 3.5 year mark.  The fact that she did publish her book and spread her message for 3 – 3.5 years also apparently has come true from her 1986 dream.  However, we can’t know that the Lord had always intended to come exactly at that 3.5 year mark – He may have been indicating her message was something that she would accomplish before His return – but not necessarily immediately before or in conjunction with His return.  Maybe it was something like Daniel’s 70th week (there are many hundreds of years between Daniel’s 69th and 70th week… well maybe she was supposed to sound the alarm for 3-3.5 years but then there would be X number of days, months, years before He comes… I don’t know - it’s just a thought for those who can track with what I’m saying).

It is also possible that the Lord was issuing a warning of readiness for 2007 and could have come…but perhaps there is a delay based on the prayers of the saints for their loved ones to come into the kingdom before this great judgment happens.  The rapture will be a wonderful escape for us, but a terrible day of judgment for the world.  On Shelby’s new site, she is not proclaiming another date (which is a good thing) but telling the world to repent and be rapture ready in order to avoid the tribulation.  Jesus did tell several parables about there being a DELAY of when the Bridegroom or Master of the house would come.  So it is possible that 2007 was really the ideal rapture year, yet in order for the meaning of the parables to fulfilled – there must be a delay.  Just another theory to consider…

I know she has taken a hit and has been branded and slandered – but I also believe there are many people who came to the Lord because of her message.  I would love to hear a testimony of someone who has gotten saved because of her ministry.  And for some of us walking with the Lord but totally oblivious to the fact that the Lord’s coming could possibly happen so soon – it was a wake-up call for a sense of urgency.  I was initially very skeptical of her message – but Choo Thomas had asked her readers & friends not to pre-judge Shelby because she may have had an important message.  For those who don’t know about Choo Thomas, she has written a best-selling book called “Heaven Is So Real” and was taken to heaven by our Lord Jesus Himself (and saw hell).  She said that the Lord promised her that He would continue to visit her every Monday until the “last day” and has not missed one yet.  She said that Jesus also told her (Choo) to send out an urgent message about being READY for the rapture in 2007.  She never claimed to know for sure that the rapture was going to happen in 2007 - but to always be ready because she believes it can happen any day at all.  Choo also shared that last year, the Lord showed her over 50 visions about the rapture and then one day said that He would show her no more rapture visions because enough warning had been given.  Shortly after that (between Aug – Oct 07), she had a vision of Jesus in the clouds with a trumpet.

For anyone who read Shelby’s book – she had an incredibly important overall message – but unfortunately…got the year wrong.  It would have been so much wiser for her to say “I believe” the rapture might happen in 2007 instead of “I know”.  The scriptures are clear that no one “knows” the day or hour – we can only know the signs and are told to watch for the season.  However, I cannot find it in my heart, as some others, to condemn her as a false prophet or a wolf in sheep’s clothes…  I believe she made a serious mistake, and she admitted she was wrong.  God only is the judge of His people.

So I agree with Brother Ted to stay vigilant, keep Shelby and all the other watchers and saints lifted in prayer.  Who knows?  It is clear that the warning has been given and His coming could be at any given moment.

Looking up,

Princess
