Hi, politically interested guys.I was unable to get the utube you linked on the supposed globalist
ideas of Huckabee, Bill. However this is what I think, in general, although not knowing
everything. Some have tried to sabotage Huckabee by saying he is a globalist
because he has given a speech to the CFR and because he has an advisor
on foreign policy who is from the CFR.It is nearly impossible not to pass through the nebula called CFR, and
its like, if one is in politics. It is a matter, rather, of one's
over-all attitude toward globalism. Huckabee is against CAFTA and
NAFTA, the primary modes in which globalism was pushed during the
Clinton era. Although he has sometimes had kind thoughts toward
illegal aliens who happened to be here already, he recognizes that we
must strengthen our borders and not allow ANY MORE illegals to come
through. On the comedy show The Colbert Report, he and Colbert were
laughing at those who want to send illegals back to Mexico through a
giant pneumatic tube--an oversimplification of what can be done with
these human beings, a majority of whom are Christians. He is for a
very strong national defense and beefing up the army to be ready to
defend America--but not for entering wars without more careful thought,
legislative consultation, and readiness than we have had recently. He is strongly for Israel's right to exist and has been to Israel nine
times, as was mentioned on Doves yesterday.I can't even imagine him being perfect, just probably better than most
candidates.I am concerned about whether he would dismantle social security, which
some of us depend on. I think if he would phase that out it would not
affect the older citizens--but I'm not sure. Also, he is for more
personal responsibility in health care, i.e., preventive medicine, and
I don't know if he would phase out Medicare, which could be a problem
for many. These are issues I have not seen discussed much on his
website, apart from the Preventive Medicine part.
As a person who lost over a hundred pounds and runs marathons, Huckabee
is a model for a person who took charge of his medical condition and
saved his own life through self-effort. But not all people can get
along without "allopaths". He discusses this Preventive Medicine
problem on his "blog". I have contributed a number of posts to this
blog. He is a true conservative in wanting to reduce government
interference, some might say TOO conservative. But his conservatism is
populist, speaking out against rule by huge corporations. Many
opinions are expressed on his blog--that in itself is really
interesting, the depth and width of response. He is far from perfect, but his stand against abortion, his stand on
strong but wiser defense, his support of Israel, and his opposition to
CAFTA and NAFTA make him the best candidate for me.In addition to that, he is one of the funniest guys on TV--which is why
Colbert wants to be his "V-P". Please watch the Colbert/Huckabee
segments if you can find them. That would be filed under The Colbert
Report.
