I really appreciate the way you did this. What God has prophets do is expose what should be obvious. We have become confused in our understanding of scripture by our desire to be accepted by society or the world. We allow them to determine what sounds logical. We use their logic without really thinking of what it means. The plumb line is the word. It says what it says. We like to cherry pick our favorite verses and ignore the others. When it lists a number of sinful life styles that will not enter the kingdom of heaven that is exactly what it means. But what it all boils down to is like you said. Will we surrender to Jesus and make him Lord of our life, or will we just give him a portion. The consequences are harsh for the stubborn self willed.
