After seeing Shanthini's post "Economy teeters on the brink......" I wanted to post something I posted over at RR.
Things are moving incredibly fast now and a certain amount of fear is setting in. There have been many discussions on how to get prepared for the tough times ahead and a lot of the advice being given sounds great in the flesh, but not in the Spirit (such as making sure you've got plenty of food and ammo for the long haul).
 
"I just want to jump in here briefly. Over the past 20 years or so I've thought many times "this is it" in regards to a total economic meltdown only to find out it wasn't "it". Maybe this won't be either, but based on the overall world condition and, especially Biblical prophesy, I really believe THIS IS IT.
If so, please take care with how you prepare. Here's what I'm doing -
1. I've got enough food, water and fuel for maybe a week. Why not longer? Because if this is it, it's not going to end!! Understand, the Rapture could easily be the very thing that precipitates the worldwide collapse. In this case, I'd have a week's more than I need.
2. If times get really bad and the Rapture hasn't happened, how long should I plan to hold out for? What if I plan for two weeks, but He doesn't come for 3 weeks? Or I plan for three months and He doesn't come for four? All I've done is try to delay the inevitable and to what end?
3.If I have some provisions and someone wants to take it, I'll share it gladly. If that person(s) wants it all, OK. Hopefully I'll have a chance to witness.
I've got firearms, but will leave them locked up. Eventually I'd run out of ammo anyway. If I'm murdered for what I have, I guess I'll just be Raptured a bit before those that are still alive at His coming. One thing I know for certain - I don't want to stand before my Lord with blood on my hands and I'm just as certain He doesn't want me to.
How am I preparing? I am keeping focused on Jesus only. I'm not allowing shadows and fears to distract me. He promised to take care of me and mine AND I BELIEVE HIM!! I hope I won't have to experience what's coming, but if He allows it, even though He slays me, yet will I trust Him."
