I worked backwards from a rectangle of 113 x 36 by reducing the length of each side one step at a time and discovered this....

 

The ‘Rectangle of Gold’

 

The first number of the ‘Prime Cube’ is 79. The 79^th element is Gold. Gold has 79 protons in the nucleus and 79 electrons orbiting those 79 protons. There are 118 neutrons in each atom of Gold. 79 + 79 + 118 equals the 276 saved in Paul’s shipwreck.

 

Make a row with 79 boxes. Place a second row on the north side of this row to form a ‘Rectangle of Gold’. Continue to build clockwise around this ‘Rectangle of Gold’ by adding boxes equal to the number next to the existing side.
