I just wanted to add that it is more than likely the month spoken of is the sixth month of Elisabeth's pregnancy. The key is you are right that we cannot know for sure the day of Jesus' birth, not by Scripture and sirely not by the stars. That is bordering on astrology and not spoken of highly in Scripture.

Astrologers were ranked among the sorcerers, stargazers, magicians and soothsayers.

That was the point I was attempting to get to. I was, however incorrect in that it was probably not the sixth month of the year. I have retraced all the verses trying to discover what week of the year Zacharias was responsible for in the temple, and it does not exist.

Nor is the date Elisabeth conceived so it is impossible to place a date on His birthday. I stand corrected.

BTW, EAR if you read this could you drop me a line at aletheuo@sbcglobal.net. I have some of the studies from last year on the 70 weeks and I was wondering if you had any more such studies?

YBIC,
