Many dates of Biblical Chronology are controversial. However, the date of 1656 AH (ano hominus, year of man) for Noah's Flood is one date that Bible chronologers are in agreement on.

DOUBLE CHECK
Adam lived 930 years (Gen. 5:5). Methuselah lived 969 years (Gen. 5:27). Their lives overlapped 243 years.
930 + 969 = 1899 years
1899 - 1656 to Flood = 243 years. This makes any changes difficult.
