Prayer : Gateway to Jesus's HeartThis past weekend at my church there was held a Prayer Conference. One of the talks was on the - Five Keys to Perking up Your Prayer Life, here's the notes :1. We must pray for ourselves : sounds simple right, but many Christians won't pray for themselves, saying they would feel selfish if they did. Jesus commanded us to ask-and you shall receive. Start asking Jesus to bless you and pour His favor over you, cause then you can be a blessing to others2. Prayer is a Love Relationship : prayer is simply talking to Jesus, having a two-way conversation with the God of this Universe. In prayer we talk to Jesus, and also listen to Him. Prayer is a commitment to your Lord and Savior3. Intercessionary Prayer : Jesus wants you to pray for others, to lift up your family, friends and neighbors in prayer. Prayer is powerful, you are moving the very heart of our Savior Jesus Christ. Key concept : Jesus will not do without prayer, what he plans on doing if you ask in prayer. He has many blessings for you, but you have to ask for them. " you don't have, because you don't ask"4. Jesus wants Quality Prayer Time : Jesus wants an intimate, close relationship with you, wants to spend lots of time with you. The method for having a close relationship with Jesus is thru prayer. And not just five minutes as your driving down the road. He wants quality prayer time from you daily5. A Love Relationship Requires Listening : Jesus wants to have a love relationship with you But that requires that you both talk to Him in prayer and Listen when he talks to you. We tend to like talking to Jesus but we don't tend to spend much time listening to Him. He's got lots of good advice to share with uswe are going to be spending all of eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should spend time now getting to know Him . Any friendship requires a time investment. Our friendship with Jesus should take priority in our daily schedules. He gave His life for us, so we may have eternal life in heaven. So go pull up a chair and have a conversation with your Savior - He's waiting !!!have a blessed day, Gary
