Dear Fivedoves,

greetings with the words from the Dailytexts http://www.dailytext.com/php/dailytexts/dailytexts.php?shortdate=20070130

for today, January 30, 2007

Tuesday January 30, 2007

Verse 1: The day of the Lord is coming; it is near. Joel 2:1

Verse 2: Keep awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour. Matthew 25:13

I marvelled when I read the word today...

because only two weeks ago we had almost same words...

Amazing, isn’t, ...a serious word the second time ...

within 15 days...

like a second wake up call...

Monday January 15, 2007

Verse 1: Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is at hand. Zephaniah 1:7

Verse 2: You must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. Matthew 24:44

Would you please just look at the KJV of both watchwords above:

It seems, that there is a

“rise”, a “step-up”, a “progression”...

Zephaniah1,

7: Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD:

for the day of the LORD is at hand:

for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

Joel 2,

1: Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

It seems the difference is : at hand   .... nigh at hand

I looked at blueletterbible.org

for both verses

1) Zephaniah (Jan 15)

http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Zep&chapter=1&verse=7&version=KJV#7

2) Joel (Jan 30)

http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Joe&chapter=2&verse=1&version=kjv

Sorry, I do know nothing about Hebrew...  it seems to me:

in both verses is the Hebrew word “qarowb” which is translated

1) “qarowb” =  “(is) at hand” (Zepaniah)

2) “qarowb” =  “for (it is) nigh at hand” (Joel)

However: between the words

“the day” = “yowm”     “of the Lord” = Y@hovah

and :     “....(nigh) at hand”= “qarowb”

at Joel we find the word “cometh” = Hebrew: “bow’”

It seems, the Hebrew word “bow’” is there expressing a “nearness... ‘even at the door’...” and therefore translated ....(it is) nigh ...at hand...

Well, here we are again: “cometh” ! = “bow’” (Strong’s word # 0935 : to go in, enter, come, come in...)

I also clicked at : “....For the unrelated Greek word for # 935”:

Amazing: 935 “basileus”  http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/words.pl?word=935

leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land, king

Matthew 2, 2

Saying, Where is he that is born King 935 of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Yes, ....Jesus is coming back as the "King of Kings and Lord of Lords." http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/jan2007/donb129.htm

Amen ! Praise the Lord !
