In reply to your query – there are two main interpretations of Daniel 9:24-27.
The first is widely promulgated by American prophetic writers who believe that the final 7 year period of the 490 year prophecy of Daniel is yet to be fulfilled, by some future World leader.
The second interpretation is that Jesus fulfilled the requirements of Daniel 9:24-27, particularly verse 24, during the 3 ˝ years of his ministry and the period following, when the gospel was offered exclusively to the Jews, and prior to its extension to the Gentiles via the visions of Peter and Cornelius (Acts 10.)
This covenant was prophesied by Jeremiah 31:31-34 and recognised as such by the writer of Hebrews 8, 9, 10, particularly in the passage Hebrews 8:6-13. In this interpretation the Temple (Holy Mount) was destroyed as a result of the Jews rejection of Jesus, The Messiah, and has been made desolate and will remain so until the consummation (v. 27b). This is the Gentile gospel age in which we live.

Most of this material and the “insights” contained within it was written after 2002. It gives an “alternative” interpretation to that which has been promulgated by the major prophetic writers during the last 50 or so years. It therefore requires a complete “rethink” of all that we have previously been taught. One of the problems I have encountered during the last three years is that it has been a “progressive” revelation, and sometimes it has necessitated “rewriting” something I had previously thought was complete and finished. However, I am reasonably satisfied at the present time! that what I have written down forms a complete and clear picture of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation chapter 13 as they apply to us TODAY.
