Elijah is said to be a type of the Rapture, but his companion Elisha did NOT go up in the Rapture. This is seldom considered. It's in the Bible however and it means something. Both were believers, both were Spirit filled and both were operating in their calling. Elisha remained on earth and did an endtime ministry that needed to be done in the last seven years of draught. But he never did go up in a Rapture. In this prophetic picture we see an idea that some will go up in a Rapture, but some (especially called) would stay on earth. It's a strange idea to many and probably hard to digest theologically, but an endtime ministry is Biblical. If true, God will need to send revelation for more understanding.
In this type-picture, Elisha is with Elijah only in the LAST part of Elijah's life, only AFTER his endtime visions. Might this indicate two kinds of Christian believers walking together in the last days? one called to heaven (the Bride of Christ) and the other called for the New Earth?
At the start of the Church age there were two ministries going together, of John and of Jesus. They were different, but both were of God.
Maybe now at the end of the Church age, there is again a transition time of two ministries and two kinds of believers walking together in two different callings.I hope there will be responses from others on this idea.
