Prophetic fulfillments of 2005

With the busy lives that we are living nowadays, it is easy to be surrounded by amazing prophetic events and not even realize it. The year of 2005 was a year of astounding prophetic fulfillment. In case you missed it, allow me to briefly review some of the occurrences of 2005 that prove we are living in the endtime now.

Mark of the Beast
One of the most shocking developments of this past year was the signing of the Real ID Act by President Bush on May 11, 2005. This new law mandates that every U.S. citizen must have a National ID card by the year 2008. Without it, you will not drive a car, board an airplane or train, enter any federal building or open a bank account. Your social security number will be encoded on your ID card. The Bible prophesies a time when every person on earth will be required to have a number in order to participate in the economy. It looks like that time will soon arrive.

By March of 2006, every movement of every vehicle in Great Britain will be recorded on video and retained for five years. Welcome to the total surveillance society of the Antichrist described in scripture.

Middle East peace plan
The confirmation of the covenant is the event that the Bible says will mark the beginning of the final seven years to Armageddon. This event will be an international agreement that deals with the status of the Temple Mount and the final borders of Israel.

The Roadmap for Peace, which was authored by the international community, calls for determining the final borders of Israel and for settling the status of Jerusalem. It certainly looks like the mechanism that will ultimately become the confirmation of the covenant.

On September 20, 2005, the world community reaffirmed its support for the Roadmap for Peace. Was this the confirmation of the covenant? We're not sure. If a temple is built on the Temple Mount within the next two or three years, then it was almost certainly the confirmation, and the final seven years did begin on September 20, 2005.

Temple to be built
In June of 2005, the newly reborn Jewish Sanhedrin announced that they would proceed with the construction of Israel's Third Temple. But how can they do this since the Temple Mount is under the control of the Muslim Waqf?

They stated that they were going to build the temple off-site, the way the First Temple was constructed by King Solomon. Everything was prefabricated and then moved to the Temple Mount for assembly. The Sanhedrin did not give the exact date when the work would actually begin on the new temple, but they implied it would be soon.

The building of Israel's Third Temple is one of the dramatic signs of the endtime given in scripture. This prophecy is found in Revelation 11:1-2 and in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.

Euphrates War continues
Revelation 9:13-16 foretells a war that will begin from the area of the Euphrates River. Most of the Euphrates is in Iraq. If the Iraq War is the Euphrates War spoken of in the prophecy, "one-third part of men" will die before the war is concluded.

Same-sex marriage legalized
The Bible says, "As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man." Lot's time was noted for its rampant homosexuality. God destroyed Sodom for this sin.

In the year 2005, Spain, Canada and Britain legalized same-sex marriage- bringing the total number of nations accepting gay marriages to five.

111th pope elected
In the 11th century, St. Malachy prophesied that there would be 112 popes from that time until the end of the papacy. He said that during the reign of the 112th pope, Rome would be destroyed. The Bible says that Rome will be destroyed at the time of the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming.

On April 19, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI was elected as the 111th pope from the time of St. Malachy. If there is anything to the Malachy prophecy, the next pope will be the last.and the present pope is now 78 years of age.

There were many more prophetic fulfillments in 2005 than those listed above. Space will not permit discussing them all. But these listed here let us know with absolute certainty that the endtime is now!
