JERUSALEM-ON-THE-LINE Prayer Letter - Jan. 18, 2006

To all our Jerusalem-On-The-Line readers,

We would like to add to this week's Prayer Letter, Dr Pat Robertson's personal response to a letter we sent him whereby he explains what was portrayed in the media.

Dear Batya and Barry:

Thank you for your most encouraging e-mail.  Regrettably, my television show, which expressed grief and fondness for Ariel Sharon, was edited to appear that I had said that God had struck him down.  I did not say that.  I was reminding the viewers of the clear imperative expressed by the prophet Joel that the land of Israel was called by God "My land," and I pointed out the danger to those who would "divide His land."  The Associated Press made it sound that I had said "God has struck him."  I said no such thing.

My love for Israel and the support of the nation will not waiver.  I see a time coming that is going to be the most dangerous in the entire history of the nation of Israel.  The forces that raid against her are awesome and, to say the least, this little land needs all the friends she can get. Sincerely,

Pat

M. G. "Pat" Robertson
