(ANS) -- A horrifying e-mail calling for suicide bombers to blow themselves up at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital where Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has been in intensive care has been making the rounds of various Internet chat groups.
Sharon, 77, suffered a massive stroke on Jan. 4, and has since undergone a number of surgical procedures. The latest was to change a respiratory pipe.
Titled “Open Letter to the Next Suicide-Bomber” and dated Jan. 8 2006, it is apparently composed by a Raja Chemayel, who describes himself as “a Christian for Hamas” (www.arabworldbooks.com/arab/raja.htm).
The e-mail is very specific, even giving a room number and a return e-mail address (chemayelraja@yahoo.co.uk). An e-mail sent to this address seeking comment was not immediately responded to.
The letter reads, “Dear Abou el Fidda, If you are next Martyr on the waiting list get started and pack your heavy-stuff, kiss the hand of your mother, kiss goodbye your brothers and sisters, kiss the hand of your father (and) put on that heavy jacket. Take the Express-Bus to Jerusalem-Central and then take bus Nr. 17 which takes you to Haddasah then step out at the Bus-Station called the ‘Hospital for War Criminal.’”
It continues, “Show your Fake-Press-Card to the Security and speak with an American-accent. Walk slowly and do not attract attention. Enter the main hall and walk straight to the VIP- elevator. Tell them Mr. Wolf Blitzer has sent you! Go up to the seventh floor (and) look for the room 714 (intensive care), and then slowly but surely hold on to that detonator under your jacket.
“Once you reach that very-well-guarded-room # 714 stop and turn left. You will see a large ‘VIP-Waiting-Hall’ with the many dignitaries from many countries including, unfortunately, some Arab-countries who came to pay their respect to their dying hero. Show again your fake-Press-Card and start interviewing those ‘well-wishers,’ and ask them what made this man a hero and how come he became a ‘Man of Peace.’”
The letter goes on to read, “Then, order for yourself a cup of coffee, sit down, rest and think for a while. If by then, you are still not convinced by the arguments you have heard from those well wishers then release that detonator! This man under intensive care will anyhow die, with or without your suicide, my brother, your real enemies are those who have called him a ‘Hero’ and could not convince you why ( nor me).”
The letter is posted on a variety of Yahoo groups that include alqaedacellusarecruiters, alqaedanetwork, alqaida, New_Al-Qaeda, Jehadwithtalha, radicaltroops_amrulloh, alqaedamediafront, islamic_resistance, jihad_lover, jihadtimes, join_jihad, jihad, jehadinislam, TedJo_bifisa, mohsheirgroup and JundAllah.
E-mails to all of these groups were sent by someone with the address of Baltimores HNIC@aol.com. In response to an e-mailed request for comment, this individual responded, “I do not condone the material in that letter. I was just forwarding it. Ask the original author who signed it at the bottom.”
Further questioned by e-mail about his motivation for posting the material to such radical Islamic groups, this person responded, “Freedom of speech allows us to report news. Don’t shoot the messenger.”
The individual, who said that he does not regard himself as a terrorist, said he posts information on various groups so that people who do not understand the Arab mind set can maybe get an idea about why they feel the way they do.
He concluded by saying, “Id like to ask you how you feel about Israeli terrorism against the Palestinian people and the United States support for Israel. If the U.S. and their allies were not supporting Israel and their genocide against the Arabs and Muslims, they would not be a target for ‘terrorism.’”
