Iran, Russia Moving Fast Toward
End Time Prophetic Fulfillment -

WASH—KIN—Jan 10—Iran and Russia are moving in tandem toward the prophetic fulfillment of the Ezekiel Gog-Magog prophecy as Russia continues to protect its interests in Iran behind the scenes and Iran strides aggressively toward meeting Israel on the battlefield.

Since the beginning of the new year, Russia and Iran seem to be rushing toward fulfillment of the Ezekiel 38 prophecy where Gog and Magog lead Persia, Libya, Ethiopia and other nations against Israel. Nearly every day since January 1st, Iran has made some announcement of aggression against Israel or has indicated it is preparing for war. And Russia, Iran’s ally and puppeteer, is running interference behind the scenes at the United Nations and among other powerful countries to maintain its financial investment in Iran as well as to establish further its power block among Islamic nations.

Iran announced that it’s breaking the U.N. seals on its nuclear facilities and will begin in earnest processing nuclear materials, drawing harsh criticism from the European Union, Britain, France and the United States. State Department Spokesman Sean McCormack said the Russians were asked to carry a message to Iran that the rest of the world would not stand for Iran to continue nuclear expansion.

“I understand that Deputy Foreign Minister Kislyak traveled to Iran. As a result of those discussions, both sides agreed to have a further set of discussions, I think at the beginning of February, McCormack said. And McCormack did not rule out a trip for Iran before the U.N. Security Council.

“We believe ultimately, just because of Iranian -- Iran's behavior in the past, that they're going to end up in the Security Council. But we are working very closely with -- on the diplomatic front with the EU-3, the Russians and others to try to give every possible chance to these existing diplomatic avenues. But ultimately, given Iran's track record on seeking nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian program, defying the international community, bobbing and weaving, obfuscating, that we're ultimately all going to end up in the Security Council on this issue, McCormack said.

Meantime, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told theological students in Iran that its time for Islam to rule the world.

“We must believe in the fact that Islam is not confined to geographical borders, ethnic groups and nations. It’s a universal ideology that leads the world to justice. We don’t shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world, Ahmadinejad said. “We must prepare ourselves to rule the world and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of the Return.

According to Mehran Riazaty, an Iranian Analyst, Ahmadinejad believes Islam must prepare the world for the return of its Shiite messiah, the Mahdi, who, on his return, will establish justice in a world consumed by chaos and corruption. Ahmadinejad believes Mahdi will come within the next two years and then will rule the world for seven years.

It is very interesting that Ahmadinejad’s beliefs parallel prophecies about the anti-Christ and the tribulation. The anti-Christ will rule for seven years, some believe, after a major catastrophic event will launch him into power—an event like the Gog-Magog war.

In Matthew 24, Jesus speaks of the reestablishment of Israel as a marker of the end time clock. We know that in 1948 Israel once again became a nation, but on June 10, 1967, Israel, in the six day war, retook the Holy City of Jerusalem. Jesus said in Matthew 24:34, “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. In a year and a half, it will be 40 years, one of the time frames used in the Bible to describe a generation, since Jerusalem came under control of Israel. And at that time, Moscow called for U.N. action against Israel. Now the Iranian president is saying Islam’s messiah will return within two years and rule for seven more. Let us be ever vigilant to watch and pray.
