1 Cor 10:31 (16 Jan 2006)
"prayer please -- my brother's threatening suicide"

My wayward (unsaved) brother has his life in one empty, meaningless, near-hopeless situation right now -- he's had tons of DUI's over the years, and is facing another count now.  {he got it while our mom was dying in the hospital last summer}

She babied her 41 y/o "baby boy" too much over the years, always "fixing" all his problems for him, bailing him out of every situation ~ and she's no longer around to do that.  {of course, he DID manipulate her & twist her arm pretty good.... so that she WOULD fix his problems....}

Also last summer, he also got fired from his welding job he'd had for 14 years.

So now -- he's out of money, about to lose his house, no income, no job, can't drive (suspended license), likely no one will hire him anyway with felonies, he's facing prison, ~ all in all, a pretty hopeless existence.  We know *WHO* he needs.

But until/unless Roger will turn to the Lord ~ and even if he does, he's still going to have to pay the consequences of his actions.  He says he will not go back to prison...... so he prefers to opt out (permanently) and take his own life.  He's tried it before; and we take him seriously this time -- he's sunk about as LOOOOOOW as anyone possibly could ~ says he's going to hang himself.  We think he seriously/dangerously may try to do something.

Any time I try to encourage him -- he does not accept it well -- claims I'm only "preaching" to him.  I've prayed until I'm prayed out.  My DH is trying to reach him; and a guy from al-anon is trying to reach him.

Please, if there's any door left open at all -- it is my deepest desire that God will yet reach this poor, tormented soul and rescue him from his path of self-destruction.   The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ez. 33:11) but He ultimately desires they turn from their evil ways & turn TO Him ~ yet at the same time, He certainly gives us free choice.

The one who satan has bound so tightly in shackled chains is named Roger.  I thank you for prayer.

Jesus is coming *SOON*!!
Are you ready?   Luke 21:36
