"Hearing God Speak"

John:

There are two stories that I would like to pass on to you that I heard
on the radio today as I was on the road.  Both are very much related,
even though they are about different situations.  The Lord speaks to us
in marvelous ways from time-to-time!

The first is of a pastor who was talking about the three ways that the
Lord speaks to us.  The first way he speaks to us is through a still
small voice.  He whispers to us, in other words.  The second way he
speaks to us is by those around us, our friends, co-workers, neighbors,
wife, husband, etc.  This is usually a louder voice than the first
method.  The third way he speaks to us is a shout, much like the voice
he used when he called Lazarus from the grave.

The second story came by way of a radio talk show host, who told about
an elephant owner in one of the resort areas where the tsunami hit.  He
owned a number of elephants, and provided rides for the tourists in the
area.  On the morning of the tsunami, the elephants began to bellow, and
the owner was eventually able to calm them down.  About an hour later,
the elephants began to bellow again, but this time, some of the
elephants with tourists on them, started running, and those staked
to the ground, took of as well for the hills.  Along the way, the
elephants reached out and picked up people with their trunks, and put
them on their backs.  They proceed through the forests and up the hill
and stopped.  Shortly thereafter, the tsunami hit, and moved up the hill
and stopped where the elephants stood.  What an incredible story!  The
Lord is trying to make himself heard, but it appears that the only ones
listening are the dumb animals!

I so much have enjoyed reading the letters in The Doves since I was
introduced to it in March of last year, and am grateful that I might
share letters on this site from time-to-time.  Thank you John and
whoever else has made this possible.  I wish there were some way that we
could all get better acquainted.  Even just knowing what state or
country each one is from would be so interesting for me.  I am a Hoosier
and a former Buckeye.

To God be the glory!

PS:  I saw on raptureready.com today that there is talk that the reason
Osama Bin Laden has  not attacked the US since 9-11, is because
President Bush has said, unofficially, that we will nuke Mecca, if he
does.  Osama probably has second thoughts about doing that now.  If this
is true, what a great move!

Thanks for sharing, Wes. Here's another touching story: Dog Saves Boy From Tsunami.
