"Colossians 2:14-16. Romans
7:6;Romans 8, Galatians 3 / Justified by God's grace thru FAITH, not works"
Colossians 2:14-16
Blotting out the handwriting
of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it
out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [And] having spoiled principalities
and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an
holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]: The
OT law was given to show us our sin....our need for a savior. The
law was condemning and it empowered sin in our lives. No
man is justified by the law. The just shall live BY FAITH.
Romans 7:6
But
now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held;
that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the
oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid.
Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except
the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. For I was alive without the law
once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Romans 8:1-3
[There is] therefore
now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after
the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ
Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law
could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the
flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Galatians 3:10
For as many as are
of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed
[is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the
book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:11
But that no man is
justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just
shall live by faith.
Galatians 3:12
And
the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed
us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree
Galatians 3:14
That the blessing of
Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that
we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:24
Wherefore
the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be
justified by faith.
