HOPE IN YOUR CHAMPION
2 TIMOTHY 2:4
2 Timothy 2:4 "No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier."
2 Timothy 3:12 says "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." In 1 Thessalonians 3:3 Paul says, "That no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this." Jesus Himself said in John 16:33; In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world!" Take courage, He says; He has overcome the very thing that troubles you. There are a few things that Paul is saying here. One of which is, "When you don't think that you can make it, consider who your General is." He tells Timothy to remember who it is that has enlisted him. He is the Ancient of Days. He is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation.
He is the one who rides on that white horse wearing a vesture dipped in blood inscribed; "King of kings and Lord of lords." His hair is like snow, and His eyes are like flames of fire. Out of His mouth is a two-edged sword and His voice is the sound of many waters.
It is His colors you wear, His image you bear and His weapons that you wield. Do you really think that if you choose to believe, choose to endure, choose to fight, that there is any chance that you will lose? There is not any more chance of you losing, than your General losing. You can afford to be consistent. It is in consistency that His ability is released. It doesn't take genius, but it may require that you get up. It will require that you simply put one foot in front of the other until you cross the finish line. The good news is that you can make it because He has already guaranteed you the victory!
