The idea that the birth pangs cannot happen except during the final seven
years is an interesting one, but I believe the argument is weak and not at
all compelling. Gestation periods notwithstanding, the only thing that
matters is what the Scriptures say, and I see nothing in the Scriptures
that totally confine the birth pangs to the final seven years. I could be
wrong, but as with Perry Stone, Jr. I believe "the beginning of birth
pangs" may begin before the final seven years (where we are now), and
increase during them. Also, of a 280-day gestation period, it is only during the final few hours,
maybe 1,4, 6, or maybe slightly more hours, that "birth pangs" are
experienced. In a 280-day period, there are 6,720 hours. If birth pangs
are experienced only in the final few hours of the 6,720-hour period, that
further weakens the argument. I do not see how this could have relevance
to the seven year Tribulation. However, there is one possibility. Could the few hours of birth pangs at
the end of a 6,720-hour gestation period be proportional to the final seven
years of a 6,000-year period? It comes out close, I believe. That is an
interesting thought.Jim
