"prophecy and the spirit of fear"

We have had a lot of speculation thrughout the years. We do have an enemy or enemies. God does warn and we are to have a fear of the Lord in that we should respect what he says and heed the warnings. That said, I would say that if our hearts are right with God and we trust him, we should not live in fear. Fear will lead us to not trust, if we take our own security in our hands we may be led deeper into danger and give the enemy a chance to harm us and our families. Some of us have to fight very hard to trust God. Some of us have a very hard time giving up things we know are harmfull. If we obsess with every little conflict that comes on us we are transparently thin skinned to those who we would hope to bring to faith. We can say and know all the right things, like a well oiled preacher, but God always tests us. Giving in and letting God have his way may be a struggle and certainly requires a disciplined thought life, but it is the only thing that will realy give us peace in our hearts.

God bless
