"vials"

(The scriptures say that the seven golden vials are the vials full of the wrath of God.)

Revelation 15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

Revelation 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

(However, so many people, these days, want to change the word “vial” to the word “bowl”.
Perhaps, the Greek word that was penned by John, could also, at that time, have been used to mean a bowl.
Yet, in our language, it absolutely does not seem to make sense to use the word bowl, in this context.
Think, for a second, about a bowl filled with water.
A bowl filled with water is certainly not the way to transport the water, since much of it will splash out and spill on the way.
Also, a bowl is the worst kind of vessel to pour with, just try it some time.
It pours all over, and cannot be focused to pour into a certain location.
Try pouring from a bowl into a cup, much won’t even make it into the cup.
The word vial, in our language, describes a vessel that is absolutely designed for safe transport and pouring, without spilling.
Generally, vials have a thin neck, and an upper rim designed for pouring measured amounts into exact locations.)
