Is not the great tribulation referred to as the time of Jacob’s trouble?

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Then why are there so many that talk about that tribulation, like it is the time of the church’s trouble?

i.e., why do they insist that the church goes through the time of Jacob’s trouble?
