"What really bothers me"

Greetings:

I was a Catholic for thirty-five years.  I was born into this religion and so I know much about  its ceremony.

Lent in the Catholic church is a time of repentance, prayer, fasting and thanking God for the gift of his Beloved Son.  It is during these 40 days that no celebration takes place.  There are no weddings, baptisms and should there be a funeral, there are to be no flowers to the church.  I only became aware of the last one when a friend of mine attended a Catholic funeral.

Why would the pope disrupt this entire time and put attention upon him and the new pope to come?  Surely he does not look as if he is about the dye.   After all, did he not just hear mass and greet all the people? Why could he have not waited?  What caused the pope to wake up one morning and just quit?   What would make him put himself above God at a time when all should be nothing but about God?

There is something very, very wrong here and we all feel it.  There is something so big about to happen.  Just listen to Hal Lindsey and Pastor JD this week.  The feelings are all around us. Signs in the sun, moon and stars.  And are not the horrible things said against Jesus increasing substantially?

I am so afraid and yet not afraid.  We are so close and I can almost touch it.  Tears stream down my cheeks thinking about what awaits all of us in Christ.

So many questions and so we wait.  Holy Spirit of God grant unto each of us the patience to endure until your return.

Your Sister In Christ,
Margaret
